Cpl Tomas Satelo
Cpl. Tomas Satelo, Jr., 20, of Houston, Texas, assigned to Headquarters Troop, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, LA., was killed by enemy fire June 27 in Baghdad, Iraq. Sotelo was traveling in a convoy when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle.

    He was killed by an IED. Also, he was not part of a convoy. He was on a night patrol. I believe he was manning a machine gun on a HMMWV.

    He was killed by an IED. The RS3 was out on a patrol of the area, spotted a van with Iraqis just past the back gate of CP Dragoon. They continued to the vehicle, the IED went off just past the gate. Sotelo was killed that night, our RS3 was badly injured (I helped the RSURG with him that night), 2 other COLT members were badly injured that night as well as a terp.
