Stryker soldiers learn Iraq ropes in “The Box”

HOHENFELS, Germany - More than 3,500 soldiers from the 2nd Cavalry (Stryker) Regiment are scouring the training area here for “insurgents” and doing bilateral meetings with Arabic-speaking role-players as part of an exercise that will prepare them for a 15-month mission to Iraq.

Dragoons mourn loss of trooper from training accident

VILSECK, Germany — Iraq-bound soldiers of the 2nd Cavalry (Stryker) Regiment were prepared for loss, strife and difficult days, but they didn’t expect to lose one of their own so soon, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cav commander Lt. Col. Rod A. Coffey said Friday.
