General David H. Petreaus, Commander, Multi-National Force Iraq, recently sent a letter to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and Civilians of Multi-National Forces - Iraq regarding the situation in Iraq as 2007 came to a close. While noting that “…there is much to be done”, he added that “…the hard-fought accomplishments of 2007 have been substantial, and I want to thank each of you for the contributions you made to them.”
Members of the 2d Cavalry Association can be justifiably proud that the Troopers of the 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment were a part of that successful record of mission accomplishment. We remain proud and certain that the Regiment will continue to see success in the Global War on Terror (GWOT) as they look towards operations in 2008. General Petraeus ends with his deep appreciation for “the dedication, professionalism, commitment and courage you display on a daily basis. It remains the greatest of honors to serve with each of you in this critical endeavor.” Members of the Association share this appreciation and are similarly honored to remain a part of this great Regiment.
