2nd Stryker Cavalry Soldier killed in Iraq

GRAFENWÖHR, Germany — A 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment soldier was killed in action Sunday in Baghdad, according to the Joint Multinational Training Command.Spc. Orlando Antonio Perez, 23, of Houston, died after coming under small-arms fire during a dismounted patrol in Baghdad, according to a Department of the Army information sheet released by JMTC on Wednesday.

The Company F, 2nd Squadron, 2nd Cav soldier will be honored at a memorial ceremony at Rose Barracks chapel in Vilseck on Friday, starting at 11 a.m., JMTC officials said.
