Greetings!
On behalf of the 2d Cavalry Association we wish you and your family a very happy, fun filled and safe 4th of July.
On this very special holiday, when we celebrate our freedom with family and friends, it is important to remember that this freedom we cherish is not free. Today like so many Independence Days in our history our 2d Cavalry brothers in arms stand at the frontiers of freedom just as so many of you have done in times past.
We say thank you for your service and encourage you to take a moment to remember our troops serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom at this very moment.
Sadly not all of our brothers will return from Iraq to celebrate future holidays with loved ones and friends. During this tour of duty as well as the Regiment’s first tour many of our brothers were lost.
Via this communication we are asking you to assist us in celebrating the lives and commemorating the sacrifice of the 2d Cavalry soldiers who gave their lives in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Homecoming and Memorial Ceremony
On November 25th of this year, at approximately 9 AM the official homecoming ceremony for the 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment will be held at Rose Barracks, Vilseck, Germany.
First let me extend our sincere invitation to one and all to join us for this joyous event.
Your association has established the Angerer Hotel in downtown Vilseck as our headquarters. We welcome you all to join us. If you would like more information please go to Dragoon’s Site.
Following the Homecoming Ceremony we will dedicate a permanent Memorial to our fallen brothers lost in Operation Iraqi Freedom tours one and two.
Memorial Monument Finances
In order for the Regiment and the Association to make this monument a reality we need your financial help.
The cost of the memorial is not insignificant. Neither the Regiment nor the 2d Cavalry Association has the financial capability to complete this project in time for the Homecoming without your financial support.
We are asking you to make a tax deductible donation to initiate the construction of the memorial and to insure that the memory of our comrades sacrifice is recorded and preserved.
Please consider a generous tax deductible donation to the memorial fund. You can make your donation on line at On Line Memorial Donation or if you prefer to donate by check please make the check out to “2d Cavalry Association Memorial Fund” and mail it to:

Thank you in advance for your generous support.
