Minard Key Ceremony

Greetings,

For some time the 2d Cav Association has been working on behalf of SSG Mike Minard, one of our Wounded Warriors during the last OIF tour. (Mike lost both legs above the knees to an IED.)

Our work and the efforts of an enormous number of his supporters, friends and family will culminate in a Key Ceremony on Monday at 11 AM when Mike takes possession of his new home and begins another chapter in his new life.

Attached here is the Order of Events for that ceremony…

Mike, now retired, purchased a brand new “Blue” uniform for the event at Fort Dix. He will also be wearing a brand new Stetson compliments of the 2d Cavalry Association… (Thank you Bill Heidner for a super job of getting the shipment out to Mike in time for the ceremony .. Hooah!)

I am so very proud of our contribution to Mike’s new home and his new life… I will continue to monitor Mike’s progress and provide personal support to him as he moves forward.

I believe this kind of effort is the purpose for which this Association was founded 110 years ago and I am truly humbled by the opportunity to serve and support this community of heroes – Our Wounded Warriors!

Thank you one and all for your support and encouragement…

Toujours Prêt!

Chris Golden
