The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Orlando A. Perez, 23, of Houston, died Feb. 24 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered from small arms fire during dismounted operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.

The following are an e-mail I received from Merritt Powell, Honorary Regimental Bagpiper, and a reply to him from Col. Thomas F. Lynch III, both of whom knew then Cpt. Green from Ft. The Department of Defense announced today the death of six Soldiers from the 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
