  • Integrated G-Mail

Here is the basic rundown.   If you want an e-mail address like john.doe@dragoons.org we now offer the capability free to members. The amount of free space for each account is currently 7 Gigs.  Optionally you can also have this e-mail be forwarded to your regular address.

For example any e-mail sent to isaac.golding@dragoons.org gets forwarded automatically to webmaster@secondcavalry.com

  • Integrated Google Applications

Google Apps is a service from Google for using custom domain names with several Google products. It features several Web applications with similar functionality to traditional office suites, including: Gmail, Google Calendar, Talk, Docs and Sites.

The Standard Edition is free and offers the same amount of storage as regular Gmail accounts.The Education Edition, which is free, combines features from the Standard and Premier editions.  The Second Cavalry Assn is currently using the Education Edition of Google Apps

US Army creates non-lethal platoon to handle reconstruction as violence subsides

DIYALA, IRAQ: When the U.S. Army creates a “non-lethal platoon” in a conflict zone, it can mean one of two things: either the battle is going well enough that soldiers can focus on reconstruction over security – or the Army has secretly reestablished its early 19th-Century policy of alcohol rations for the troops.

Iraqi Army, MND-N Soldiers assist more than 150 families

Multi-National Division – North PAO

DIYALA, Iraq – Iraqi Army and Multi-National Division – North Soldiers assisted more than 150 Iraqi families during a humanitarian assistance distribution.

     

Members of the Iraqi Army and 4th Platoon, Fox Company, 4th Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment distributed 1,250 pounds of food and water to citizens of Baqubah, Iraq, Aug. 5.

     

“This event demonstrates that the Iraqi Security Forces and the Government of Iraq are committed to providing essential services and needed supplies to the local populace,” said Maj. Jon Pendell, a 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment spokesperson.
